Blogging Success

Ok... so that post worked. Great! You must excuse me once again. That post is a few days old, and I was frantically trying to put it up on the blog in the last 2 minutes of my internet cafe time allowance the last time I was herre. My whole webpage appeared to me in Japanese Kanji (characters/alphabet) and I couldn`t read a thing. I still can`t read anything but I have spent the last 20minutes pressing every button/link.

Melissa and I bought a telephone yesterday. For anyone interested, the number is 090-8530-1386. We are having issues with getting internet though. We expect to have internet in our home some time around mid August. The company that provides internet hookup -Yahoo BB- requires our Gai-Jin card (the registration card I spoke about in the last post) and it will take them 4 weeks to schedule us an instalation date. I guess we`ll be using the cafe for a little while longer.

I bought a sweet camera on Monday. For those of you who know what is what, it is a: Casio 10 megapixl, 3X optical and 5X digital zoom, and digital stabalization (I had hoped for optical, but alas I can`t have it all)... the going price, with a 1 Gig SD card... $255 CAD. Anybody who has the latest toys here in Japan is rockin` the 12 MegaP cameras, but I am happy with yester-year`s model.

Anyway, we have most of what we need... maybe some less glamorous toys like a rice cooker, are still needed, but we are pretty set.

A word about beverages here. Multi-fruit and vegie drinks are popular. We were hesitant at first, but have since tried a couple of brands and types. If you ever visit Japan, and you need juice... buy the green ones. We haven`t had a green beverage yet that hasn`t blown away the competing red, white (cloudy...but not milk), clear, and bubbly beverages. Put that in the knowledge bank!

`Till next time,

Mike
